Title:
FLUORESCENT DISCHARGE TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5697957
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the flickering phenomenon which develops over the entire area of a positive column, and thus enhance the efficacy of a fluorescent discharge tube, by forming a magnetic-substance layer, which is magnetized across the thickness of that, on the reflexing film.

CONSTITUTION: Stems 6 to each of which a filament is fixed by means of a lead wire 4 are fused and fixed to the ends of a glass tube 3 inner wall of which is applied with a fluorescent body 2. The tube 3 is subjected to vacuum exhaustion before it is charged with a rare gas G. A reflecting film 9 made of titanium oxide which has an appropriate width and about the same length as a fluorescent discharge tube 1 is attached to the circumference of the tube 1 along its length. A magnetic-substance layer 10 which is magnetized across the thickness of that is formed on the reflecting film 9. A magnetic field H which is produced by the layer 10 crosses the direction of the electric field of the fluorescent discharge tube 1.
