To provide a fluorescent lamp with a built-in negative ion generator applicable to a fluorescent lamp without a built-in ballast without impairing appearance although having a simple structure.
This fluorescent lamp with a built-in negative ion generator is provided with a fluorescent lamp 10 equipped with, at both ends of a straight tube type bulb 14, with bases 15 from which terminal pins 16 are projected, and is also provided with a housing 20 wherein insertion holes 24 capable of carrying current to sandwich terminal pins 16 of the fluorescent lamp 10 are formed one one side, and terminal pins 25 of a specification equivalent to that of the terminal pins 16 of the fluorescent lamp 10 are formed for the other-side terminals. The negative ion generator 21 electrically connected between the insertion holes 24 and the terminal pins 25, and driven by extracting the current flowing to the terminals of the fluorescent lamp 10 is built in the housing 20. Negative ion emitting holes 26 are formed in a peripheral part of the housing 20.
