To obtain a fluorescent starch particle capable of providing a special paper having counterfeit-preventing properties such as a specified shape and a fluorescence emitting ability by allowing the fluorescent starch to be included in paper by immobilizing an anionic (cationic) fluorescent agent to a specific cation- (anion-) denatured starch.
This fluorescent starch particle is prepared by immobilizing an anionic fluorescent agent on a cation-denatured starch having 0.01-0.1 substitution degree, or having ≥0.1 substitution degree and subjected to cross-linking treatment or immobilizing a cationic fluorescent agent on an anion-denatured starch having 0.01-0.1 substitution degree, or having ≥0.1 substitution degree and subjected to cross-linking treatment the same as the before one. The special paper for a counterfeit-preventing use is obtained by allowing the fluorescent starch particle to be included in paper.
