Abstract:
To provide a high performance fluorescent substance which emits green fluorescence and excellent in a conversion efficiency for blue light or near-ultraviolet light and color purity.
The fluorescent substance has a chemical composition expressed by following formula: (MI(1-x-y)MIIxMIIIy)SiO, wherein, MI represents an element of Ba, Ca, Sr, Zn or Mg; MII represents a metal element which can take di- and tri-valent valency; MIII represents an element of Tb, Pr, Ce, Lu, La or Gd; and x, y, and represent numbers satisfying 0.01x0.3, 0.0001y0.025, 1.52.5 and 3.54.5.
