Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new fluorine-containing azo compound, having characteristics of a fluorine-containing compound and an azo coloring matter and useful as a coloring matter component of a fluorine-based coating or a fluorine-based resin, a new functional coloring matter, etc., or a fluorine- containing indicator, an environmental indicator, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorine-containing azo compound expressed by formula I {Rf is 5-12C perfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkenyl; X is single bond, O, S, (CH2)p, [(p) is 1-4] or (CH2)q [(q) is 1-4]; Y is COOH, SO3H, 1-5C alkyl or halogen; R1 and R2 are H or 1-5C alkyl; (m) is 0-2; (n) is 1 or 2}, e.g. a compound expressed by formula II. This compound expressed by formula I is obtained by diazotizing a fluorine-containing aromatic amine expressed by formula III and then reacting the resultant compound with an aniline derivative expressed by formula IV.
