Abstract:
Provided is a production method for a fluorinated ether compound which can be used to form a surface layer having superior rub resistance no matter whether the surface layer is produced by dry coating or wet coating. The production method for a fluorinated ether compound according to the present invention comprises: reacting, in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst, a compound having a poly(oxyperfluoroalkylene) chain and a ω-alkenyl group with a compound having a hydrogen atom linked to a silicon atom, and at least one of a hydrolyzable group linked to a silicon atom and a hydroxy group linked to a silicon atom, to obtain a mixture containing a fluorinated ether compound having a poly(oxyperfluoroalkylene) chain and at least one of a hydrolyzable group linked to a silicon atom and a hydroxy group linked to a silicon atom; and thereafter, bringing the mixture into contact with an adsorption material having a pore diameter of 0.2-100 nm.
