Title:
FLUORORESIN POWDER COMPOSITION FOR POWDER PROCESSING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3594950
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluororesin powder composition excellent in film formability and suitable for obtaining a coating or a molding excellent in surface smoothness by powder processing such as powder coating or rotational molding.
SOLUTION: This fluororesin powder composition is a PFA [tetrafluoroethylene/perfluoro(alkoxytrifluoroethylene)] copolymer powder composition obtained by spraying a mixture of a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) particle with heat of crystallization of <50 J/g and an average particle size of 0.05 to 1 μm and PFA in an atmosphere heated at the melting point of the PFA or higher, or by thermal fusion of the mixture at the melt starting temperature or higher but not exceeding the melting point of the PFA. The PFA powder composition for powder processing has the average particle size of 1 to 1,000 μm and the no-load melt fluidity satisfying the inequality (1): log10F≥3.12-0.70 log10η (where F represents the no-load melt fluidity of the copolymer powder composition; η represents specific melt viscosity (Poise) of the copolymer powder composition at 372°C).
