A flush toilet bowl 1 includes a bowl part 8 having a dirt receiving surface 12, a rim portion 14 located at the upper edge, and a water channel formed between the dirt receiving surface 12 and the rim portion 14 so that washing water flows therein, a water discharge part (a first water discharge port 18) which discharges the washing water onto the water channel of the bowl part 8 to form a swirl flow A and of which the water discharging direction is the forward direction of the toilet bowl, and a drain trap pipeline whose inlet is connected to a lower portion of the bowl part 8 for discharging the dirt. On the dirt receiving surface 12 of the bowl part 8, a recessed portion 32 is formed having side walls 32a, 32b extending from the front side of the bowl part 8 toward the inlet of the drain trap pipeline and a bottom face 32c.
