This receiver is provided with a receiver 3 that receives an FM multiplex signal, a storage means 5 that stores the received FM multiplex signal, an output means 7 that outputs the received FM multiplex signal, and a channel selection control section 9 that controls the operation of retrieval and channel selection of a succeeding object station of the receiver 3. The channel selection control section 9 controls the operation of the receiver 3 so that a succeeding station object is retrieved at the reception of a broadcast consisting of only sound, when a prescribed rate of all data of the broadcast is finished for reception, at the lapse of a prescribed time after a specific broadcast station is selected or at the lapse of a unit time after the lapse of a prescribed time after the selection of a specific broadcast station.
