PURPOSE:To prepare a rigid foam which has a high closed cell content, a high expansion ratio, and a low water absorption capacity and emits little odor. CONSTITUTION:A rigid foam is prepd. from a foamable compsn. contg. a vinyl chloride resin, a blowing agent consisting of N,N'- dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine, a blowing aid consisting of a metal oxide having an electronegativity of the metallic ion of 7-14, and an org. solvent as the main components.
