Abstract:

To solve the problem of a method of focusing the present fingerprint sensor wherein generally it is slow, and it is difficult to quickly and accurately bring the fingerprint image into focus.

In focus adjusting method of bringing the fingerprint image into focus, a partial fingerprint image is obtained, a control parameter value is adjusted to obtain a focused partial fingerprint image, and after the adjusted control parameter value is set as a focus control parameter value, the focused whole fingerprint image is obtained. Further, A fingerprint detecting apparatus capable of partially reading the fingerprint image includes a sensor array composed of a plurality of detecting elements to detect the ridges and troughs of the fingerprint placed on a contact surface. The fingerprint detecting apparatus includes a control part connected to the sensor array to select at least one of the plurality of detecting elements to form a partial image of the fingerprint and a detecting circuit for determining whether the selected detecting element is on state or off state.
