Title:
FOCUS DETECTOR FOR CAMERA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1114900
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a focus even for an object having a low frequency pattern and a high frequency object having a fine pattern and also to improve detection accuracy. SOLUTION: This focus detector of a camera has a photoelectric converting element array 1 where the plural kinds of sample pitches including an initial state to change a subject image formed on a photodetection surface into a sample are selected and a subject image signal obtained by photoelectrically converting the subject image by the sample pitch selected is outputted, a discriminating means 3 comparing the spatial frequency of the subject image signal with a specified value, a changeover means 2 selecting the sample pitch based on the discriminated result of the discriminating means 3 and a detecting means detecting the focusing state of the subject image based on the subject image signal after the sample pitch is selected.
