PURPOSE: To let the device assist the operation of an automatic focusing device in cooperation to its operation by incorporating the focus light device which is operatable by its built-in power source into the camera having an external metering system automatic focusing device.

CONSTITUTION: An automatic focusing device which is operatable by its built-in power source is provided to the camera provided with an external metering system automatic focusing defice. The light emitting part 6 of this device is constituted by a lens-form window 7, a tubular body 8 coated with reflecting agent on its inside surface 8a and a lamp 9. The top part of the lamp 9 is made in couvex lens form to make light in beam form. When the subject luminance is low and strobe photographing is required, setting of the focus light device to its use state is accomplished by the preparation operation for turning on of a strobe power source switch 4 and the focus light device is operated by turning ON of a start switch S2 as the automatic focus device is operated, whereby it is used in combination with the automatic focus light device and the subject is thereby illuminated.
