Abstract:
To provided a foil transfer apparatus capable of quickly detecting that a foil film is used up and suppressing the erroneous detection.SOLUTION: A foil transfer apparatus 1 comprises a supply reel 31, a heating roller 61, a pressure roller 51, an encoder for outputting a pulse signal when the supply reel 31 rotates, and a control unit 100. The rotation of the supply reel 31 stops when an end edge of a foil film F is separated from a supply shaft part 31A to cause a state where the foil film F is used up. The control unit 100 determines that the foil film F is used up when the signal output from the encoder is not changed for a reference time or longer. The control unit 100 sets the reference time to a first reference time. The control unit 100, when a tip end of a sheet S enters a nip part between the heating roller 61 and the pressure roller 51, and when a rear end of the sheet S exits from the nip part, sets the reference time to a second reference time longer than the first reference time in place of the first reference time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
