Abstract:
To suppress unnecessary transportation of a foil film and suppress a pressure contact mark on a sheet.SOLUTION: A foil transfer device includes a heating roller, a pressure roller, a pressure contact separation mechanism, a transfer roller, and a control unit. The pressure contact separation mechanism moves the heating roller between a pressure contact position and a separation position. The control unit executes a first processing, a second processing, a third processing, and a fourth processing when a foil film is started to be pressed against a sheet at a position on the sheet away from a tip of the sheet. In the first processing, transfer of the sheet is started with the heating roller positioned at a separated position (time t1). In the second processing, the transfer of the sheet is stopped before a foil transfer area on the sheet reaches a transfer position between the heating roller and the pressure roller (time t3). In the third processing, the heating roller is started to move from the separated position to a pressure contact position while the sheet is stopped (time t3). In the fourth processing, the transfer of the sheet is restarted before the heating roller reaches the pressure contact position (time t4).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
