Abstract:
To provide folate salts showing a good stability, a high solubility in apolar solvents and good water-solubility.SOLUTION: There is provided an amorphous folate salt consisting of a tetrahydrofolic acid anion and an organic cation characterized in that the anion is 5-methyl-(6S)-tetrahydrofolic acid, and the cation is an organic compound selected from the group consisting of arginine, choline, acetylcholine, 1,1 -dimethyl-biguanidine, phenylethylbiguanidine, betaine-methylester and dimethylaminoethanol, wherein the folate salts have a solubility of more than 5 mass% in an apolar solvent at 20°C, and wherein the apolar solvent has a relative polarity of 0.82 compared to water.SELECTED DRAWING: None
