PURPOSE: To automatically fold quilts and futons (Japanese mattress) for speeding up packaging.

CONSTITUTION: An input conveyer mechanism 1 comprises a sensor 5 and a conveyer 6 for carrying in a direction of a first folding mechanism 2, wherein the first folding mechanism 2 comprises conveyers 8 including a plurality of single conveyers 7, 7', 7" moving in a direction similar to the conveyer 6, first and second folding bars 9, 10 which can move vertically and fore-and-aft, left and right clamp mechanism 11, 11' which can be opened/closed and a fist pusher 12 for pushing out folded futons. Further a second folding mechanism 3 comprises a roller conveyer 13 perpendicularly following movement of the conveyers 8, a second pusher 14 and a sub pusher 15 which can be vertically moved on the roller conveyer 13 and can push out in a direction of a press carrying mechanism 4, and a third folding bar 16 which protrudes over the roller conveyer 13 and can reciprocate above the second pusher 14 in a direction of the roller conveyer moving, while the press carrying mechanism 4 is located at an exit of the second folding mechanism 3 and comprises pressing plates 17, 17.
