PURPOSE: To obtain equipment which can follow warping, meandering, changing in a plate width, etc., of a strip, in particular regarding following equipment for the strip in running.
CONSTITUTION: A touch roll 15 is provided at one end of following equipment, while the other end thereof is connected to cylinders 5 and 7. When meandering or a change in a plate width occurs in a strip S, the touch roll 15 being in contact with the strip S is made to move by the cylinder 5 so that it follows the meandering and the change in the plate width. When the strip S fluctuates vertically due to waving or the like, on the other hand, a cylinder 9 provided in the following equipment and pressing the strip S in the vertical direction absorbs the amount of the fluctuation and follows the strip. On the occasion when the strip S is inclined due to the waving or the like, moreover, the angle of contact with the strip S can be kept prescribed by a gimbal mechanism incorporated in the following equipment.
