Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a cooling liquid which is non-corrosive to the food cooling equipment even in the coexistence of calcium chloride, by adding a small amount of glycerophosphoric acid calcium salt to an aqueous solution of propylene glycol.

CONSTITUTION: The title cooling liquid is prepared by adding (pref. 0.01W1.0%, esp. 0.03W0.1% of) glycerophosphoric acid calcium salt of formula I to an aqueous solution containing (pref. 20W60wt%, esp. 30W35wt% of) propylene glycol. The compound I may be the α-form (formula II) or the β-form (formula III).

EFFECT: It has no safe and health problems, and is applicable to the direct cooling of foods.

USE: Cooling of refreshing drink, beer, milk, etc., and direct cooling of fish.
