Abstract:
PURPOSE: To raise the safety and durability of a food grater by pivotally joining a pair of panels having food grating means respectively for expanding into an inverted V-shaped freestanding orientation for use to pass grated food segments to the inside of a panel, and dismountably attaching a container to collect the grated food inside the panel. CONSTITUTION: The orientation of panels 4, 6 pivotally joined at upper ends can be changed from a parallel orientation for storage to an inverted V-shaped freestanding orientation for use. Food grating means 22 having U-shaped cutting edges are formed in at least one of the panels 4, 6, e.g. in panels 4, for grating food when food is moved down on the panels 4. Grated food segments are passed through apertures 20 to an inside surface of the panel 4. A container attaches to the inside surface of the panel 4. Different grating means can be formed on the panel 6 in the same way.
