PURPOSE: To enable reliable and excellent heating of even a high capacity flat can, by a method wherein by pushing in a water tank arranged to the side of an inner container, a bottom part is broken, and a heat generating material placed on the bottom part of an outer container makes contact with outflow liquid to generate heat.
CONSTITUTION: An outer container 1 is formed in a flat shape on the whole, and provided at its bottom with a quick lime bag 2 and on the quick lime bag with a food containing container 3 held so as to form a space between its bottom and the bag. A water tank 4 is held in a manner that it is aligned to the side of the inner container 3 and can be pushed in. The outer container 1 is provided with a guide part 1i to vertically movably guide the water tank 4 and a protrusion 1k formed on a bottom surrounded with an inside screw part 1j. The water tank 4 is provided at its upper end with a knob 4a and at its lower end with an outside screw part 4b engaged with the inside screw part 1j, and the lower end thereof is closed by a sheet material 4c apt to break. The water tank 4 is rotationally lowered through engagement between the outer and inside screw parts 4b and 1j, and the sheet material 4c is broken and unsealed by the protrusion 1k. Water 8 flows out and reacts to quick lime 7 in the quick lime bag 2 to generate heat.
