The force detection device 1 is constituted such that for the support 4, the handle 3 capable of reciprocative motion in a first axial direction along the forward and backward direction of a truck and a second axial direction perpendicular to that is arranged, also on the support 4 a pair of force detection parts 2, 2 for detecting the external force imparted on the handle 3 are arranged parallel and separately in the second axial direction, and on the handle 3 a pair of pressing parts 31, 31 are protrusively provided toward the pair of force detection parts 2, 2. Each force detection part 2 is provided with the force sensor 21 capable of detecting the force only the first axial direction by being pressed by the pressing part 31, and also an engage receiver for engaging with the pressing part 31. By the engage receiver, each pressing part 31 is supported to the support 4 to enable relative movement in the first axial direction and the relative rotation around the third axis perpendicular to the first axis and the second axis, but the relative movement in the second axial direction is regulated.
