Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force intensifying device for a vise, by which a positional shift and falling of a workpiece hardly occur even if large external force is applied to the workpiece, and gripping force is efficiently generated for the applied force.
SOLUTION: The force intensifying unit 40 is provided between a holding member 20 for holding a first moving member 10 having a wedge shape tip end and a second moving member 30 facing the holding member 20. The holding member 20 has first and second guide grooves 23A, 23B and first and second tilting surfaces 24A, 24B. The second moving member 30 has third and fourth guide grooves 33A, 33B facing the first and second guide grooves 23A, 23B respectively. The force intensifying unit 40 is provided with rollers 45A, 46A which roll along the first and second tilting surfaces 24A, 24B, and further is provided with sliding members 41, 42 which rotatably support the rollers 45A, 46A and slide along the first to fourth guide grooves 23A, 23B, 33A, 33B.
