PURPOSE: To provide the forceps for an endoscope so that capacity transferred to the tip arm part of an opening/closing arm member in a forceps part and a range of an opening angle of its opening/closing forceps part are subjected to optimal setting in accordance with use without changing a structure of a hand operating part and without enlarging the capacity operated by an operator.

CONSTITUTION: In the forceps for an endscope, in which an intermediate part of an opening/closing arm member 8 of a forceps part 4 is attached pivotally to the tip part of a sheath for inserting through an operating shaft 7, the base end of this opening/closing arm member 8 is connected to the operating shaft 7 through a link 11, and by moving the operating shaft 7 for operating the link 11, the opening/closing arm member 8 of the forceps part 4 is subjected to opening/closing operation, and length of the arm part of the base end side and length of the link 11 from a pivotally supporting point of the opening/ closing arm member 8 are set to an unequal length.
