Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forcing stop type motor driven cylinder which can control accurately a forcing power, using a simple operation by performing a size reduction/weight reduction/lifetime increase of an apparatus, and reducing the manufacturing cost/the number of manufacturing steps/maintenance burden.
SOLUTION: The forcing stop type motor driven cylinder includes a rod 14, supported retractably to a housing 12, a threaded shaft 18 engaged with a nut 16 fixed to the rod, a motor 22 with a brake mechanism for forward or backward rotatably driving the threaded shaft, and a controller 20 for controlling the motor. The threaded shaft is supported freely movably in the axial direction to the housing. A spring mechanism, for absorbing the force of the axial direction generated by the axial free movement of the threaded shaft, is mounted between the threaded shaft and the rotary shaft of the motor. The controller controls the motor, by a series of operating the brake mechanism of the motor to lock the rotary shaft, after the rotary shaft is restricted by the external force to be applied to the rod, and stopping the power supply to the motor, after the operation of the brake mechanism.
