PURPOSE: To prevent even a thick transfer form from being fed slantingly by moving a transfer paper separating roll or pinch roll back during thick-form transfer operation.
CONSTITUTION: When the form 20 is thick like a postcard, the knob 17a at the tip of a handle 17 is pressed in a copying machine body A. Consequently, the two-stage cam 15b at the tip of a pinch roll moving-back means 15 presses up the pin 16 of a supporting member 10, which turns upward around a supporting shaft 9 to separate the pinch roll 6 from a separating roll 5. During copying operation in said state, the front end of the form 20 separated from the surface of a photoreceptor 1 after the transfer of a toner image is never deflected forcibly by the pinch roll 6 in the horizontal direction, so both sides of the form 10 are changed in directions with the same curvature. Further, a solenoid may be provided at a forward part of a levet 10b to move the pinch roll back.
