PURPOSE: To initiate the hardening reaction at any desired time and to obtain a stable hardened body without dimensional changes by mixing a reducing-stage slug slurry and a gypsum slurry containing aluminate.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry is prepared by adding 40-400 pts.wt. of water to 100 pts.wt. of reducing-stage slug comprising 10-80 pts.wt. of one of γ-2CaO SiO2 and 3CaO.2SiO2.CaF2 or mixture of them, 90-20 pts.wt. of solid solution of 12CaO.7Al2O3 and CaF2. Another slurry is prepared by adding 50-200 pts.wt. of water to 100 pts.wt. of gypsum (e.g. gypsum as by-product of titanium oxide) containing ≤40wt.% aluminate (e.g. sodium aluminate). These two kinds of slurry are added in such a manner that the weight ratio of the reducing-stage slug and the gypsum is 4:1 to 3:1, so as to form a hardened body showing 3-5kgf/cm2 finish uniaxial compression strength in two hours.
