Title:
FORMATION OF COATING FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3227746
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the coating film excellent in stain resistance and water repellency by incorporating a specific fluororesin copolymer having ≥50°C glass transition temperature and 80 to 150mg KOH/g hydroxyl group value at ≥50wt.% of the weight of the resin component forming a coating film and cross-linking agent into a top coating material and forming the cured coating film having ≥70°C softening point and ≥1×1010dyne/cm2 modulus of elasticity at 70°C.
CONSTITUTION: The fluororesin copolymer contg. fluoroolefin as a copolymer component has ≥50°C glass transition temperature and 80 to 150mg KOH/g hydroxyl group value. Further, the softening point of the cured coating of the top coating material is specified to ≥70°C softening point and the modulus of elasticity thereof to ≥1×1010 dyne/cm2. The coating material contains a cross-linking agent as an essential component. The formation of the coating film by, for example, a 2-coat 1-bake treatment is executed by resting the coating material, in the case of a solvent type base coating material, at ordinary temp. for several minutes after coating, then diluting the coating material with a solvent to obtain a top coating material soln., applying this soln., allowing the coating to set for some time to sufficiently smooth the coating film and to evaporate the internal solvent, then curing the coating film. The optimum curing conditions are properly selected by the kind of the cross-linking agent.
