Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably form a pink, a red or a brown colored glass layer which cannot be colored to an essential one according to a conventional method in the method for forming the colored glass layer on the surface of an inorganic substrate with an infrared laser.
CONSTITUTION: A surface layer 2 comprising a cement, a glaze and a colorant is formed on the surface of an inorganic substrate 1 such as a cement molding to thereby prepare a substrate 3 for a decorative material for a pink or a yellow color. The surface layer 2 of the substrate 3 for the decorative material is irradiated with a gaseous carbon dioxide laser to carry out the vitrification while regulating the temperature to that suitable for coloring of the colorant including the temperature of the surface layer 2.
