Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for lowering clouding of a hologram having a refractive index modulation by presence or absence of microgaps without degrading the diffraction efficiency and refractive index modulation of this hologram and deviation in diffraction wavelength, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The cloud value of the hologram having the refractive index modulation by the presence or absence of the microgaps 3 is lowered by compressing the hologram in a direction perpendicular to the hologram plane, restoring the atm. pressure after a pressure reduction and shrinking the hologram in the direction perpendicular to the hologram plane by the atm. pressure, to shrink the hologram in the direction perpendicular to the hologram plane by the atm. pressure after restoring the atm. pressure after a pressure reduction, or immersing the hologram into a soln. to shrink the hologram in the direction perpendicular to the hologram plane, thereby reducing the diameters of the microgaps 3 existing in low-refractive index parts 3 in the direction perpendicular to the hologram plane and decreasing scattering components.
