Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an insulating film for an electrical steel sheet with the generation of an unpleasant odor reduced in stack welding and in the die casting of aluminum after welding while excellently maintaining the scratch resistance, punching property, weldability and corrosion resistance after straightening annealing.
SOLUTION: An org. reducing agent by 10-50 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of total chromium expressed in terms of CrO3 is copolymerized with ≥1 kind between 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate and ≥1 kind among other resin monomers in an aq. inorg. soln. consisting essentially of at least one kind among chromic anhydride and dichromates and the oxide, hydroxide or carbonate of bi- or trivalent metal. A resin emulsion by 5-100 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of total chromium in the soln., is admixed to prepare a processing soln. The soln. is applied on the surface of an electrical steel sheet and then baked. Consequently, an insulating film for an electrical steel sheet reduced in the generation of malodor in stack welding is formed.
