Title:
FORMATION OF LAYER OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0269760
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the difference in sensitivity by a difference in film thickness and uneven image densities by using a coating liquid which contains a charge generating material having a specific average grain size at a specific ratio based on the solid content and exhibits non-Newtonian flowability.

CONSTITUTION: The coating liquid which exhibits the non-Newtonian flowability is used in the method of forming the photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic sensitive body by a dip coating method. This non-Newtonian flowability is purposely imparted to the coating liquid to balance both the adhesion of the coating liquid by a thixotropic property and the liquid spreadability by a liquid sag by which a uniform film thickness is obtd. Namely, the coating liquid which is stabilized in the grain size of the charge generating material to a 0.05 to 0.10μ range and is specified in the solid content at the time of coating to a 1.0 to 3.0% range is used at the time of dispersing the charge generating material into a resin binder soln., by which the uniform film thickness is obtd. in the dip coating method. The uneven sensitivity and the uneven image densities are prevented in this way.
