To speed up the number of the revolution of a loom, elongate the maintenance cycle of a tuck-in device and save an electric power compared to a method for carrying out the tuck-in for each weaving cycle, and further to improve the appearance of a woven selvage of a pile structure compared to the method for carrying out the tuck-in of the united whole weft yarns so as to be inserted within each repeat at once.

This method for forming a tuck-in selvadge in a tuck-in device of a shattleless loom for a towel comprises carrying out the tuck-in of the end parts of plural weft yarns inserted within one repeat for forming a pile by dividing the insertion to several times, in which at least one tuck-in is carried out by uniting plural weft yarn ends, and the last tuck-in is carried out in a weaving cycle of the first weft yarn in the next repeat for forming the pile.
