Abstract:
To provide a foaming suppressor that can suppress the foaming of the slag discharged from a converter to a slag ladle efficiently, quickly, and inexpensively, and a foaming suppressing method using the same.SOLUTION: A foaming suppressor is to suppress the foaming of the slag discharged to a slag ladle. The foaming suppressor is a mixture of an organic compound and at least one inorganic material. The volume of a gas generated in burning completely it is 0.4 Nm3/kg or more and less than 2.0 Nm3/kg. The apparent density is 1300 kg/m3 or more. Preferably the inorganic material includes one or more of slag, dust, refractory, and concrete.SELECTED DRAWING: None
