Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the fuel consumption by precluding a load increase of an engine when a failure is generated in a motor or its driver device.
SOLUTION: When a failure is generated in the motor 4 or an inverter 9, a clutch 12 is released, and a generator 7 is also stopped for precluding a load increase of the engine 2. Failure in the motor 4 or inverter 9 is sensed on the basis of the speed difference between the rear wheels driven by the motor 4 and the front wheels driven by the engine 2, or the size of the deceleration of the rear wheels driven by the motor 4. The shortcircuit current in different phases of the lower arm of the inverter 9 is passed through a low-pass filter, and the DC component therein is compared with the predetermined value to serve for failure sensing of the inverter 9.
