PURPOSE:To allow the fluorescent/phosphorescent analysis which is used in biochemical and medical fields by providing a stimulating light source, a beam splitter and a detector. CONSTITUTION:The light to be measured is divided to two luminous fluxes which are turned respectively backward and are coupled again by the beam splitter BS to form interference fringes on the detector D. The intervals of the interference fringes are dependent upon the angle theta of inclination of a mirror M2. The interference fringes form an interferogram on the photoelectric surface of a two-dimensional photoon counter tube existing in the position of the detector D. The interferogram is subjected to spacial Fourier transform and the space frequency distribution thereof is analyzed, by which the spectral distribution of the light source is determined. The fluorescent spectrophotometer or spectrophotofluorometer is obtd. when the chopper C is opened and the fluorescence stimulated by the stimulating light is spectrally divided. The spectroscopy of the phosphorescence is executed when only the emitted light when the stimulating light is not made incident is detected and spectrally divided by a minicomputer MC into which the above-mentioned information is put.
