In order to increase lacrimal fluid exchange between a contact lens and the cornea, a feature pattern may be incorporated in a peripheral area of the rear curved surfaced of the contact lens. The feature pattern may be incorporated in anywhere of the surroundings of the lens based on fractal geometry. It is preferable that arrangement of the feature pattern is determined by using combination of simulation and an experiment.
