Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the propulsion resistance of a ship so as to increase the speed of it.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom plate 2a of a frame 2 as the support structure of a rotating type propulsion device 1 is formed in a three-dimensional curved surface shape which is connected continuously to a hull shell 24 by adopting it to the curved form of the hull shell 24. Also the bottom plate 2a is connected continuously and smoothly to the surrounding hull shell 24 so as to form a part of the hull shell 24 with the bottom plate 2a. Thus, because the whole hull shell 24 becomes a fair curve, water stream along the hull shell 24 during cruising becomes very smooth and the ship propulsion resistance can be reduced.
