Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame relay transmitter in which FAX communication at a voice compression speed or over when an increased communication band is able to be reserved even in the case that the communication band of the FAX communication is required more than the reserved band for high efficiency voice compression at call connection.
SOLUTION: In the case that a preamble signal of a FAX is sent from a FAX terminal 171, a FAX control section 151 detects a preamble signal and sends a reservation request signal for a FAX communication band higher than that by high efficiency voice compression to a communication band control section 131. Upon the detection of the reservation request signal, the control section 131 makes negotiation with a communication band control section 130 in a node 180. When the requested communication band is able to be reserved, the communication band control sections 130, 131 report the content respectively the FAX control section 150, 151 and the FAX communication speed over the high efficiency voice compression is attained as the FAX control means.
