PURPOSE: To prevent shaking of a scaffold by means of braces, and to enhance the safety of work by fitting a rigid side frame between the leg columns on the same side of adjacent erection frames above a lateral frame member, and also by providing X-shaped braces to the adjacent erection frames of the same fitting parts.

CONSTITUTION: A lateral frame member 4 is fixed to an erection frame 1 so as to be perpendicular to the middle parts of a pair of parallel and equilength leg columns 2, 3, and reinforcing members 5 are connected to respective leg columns thereunder, and a platform (scaffold) 7 is laid between the lateral frame members 4, 4 between the erection frames 1 and 1A. Then, a rigid side frame 8 is provided on one side between the erection frames 1 and 1A, and upper and lower projected wings 13, 13a; 14, 14a are provided outwards to the rising parts 12, 12a of a handrail frame respectively, and the drilled holes 15 of the wings are symmetrically fittedly inserted into the lock pins 16 on the upper leg columns so as to be fitted between the leg columns 2b. And the lengthwise spacings of the drilled holes 15, 15a are made to be the difference P by the weight and measures, and also are made to be applicable even to the length of the British system. And X-shaped braces 18 are fitted and fixed to the leg columns 2b of the lower erection frame, and the holes 19 on the upper side to the pins 16 of the leg columns 2a' of the erection frames 21, 21A respectively.
