Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent ring bandwidth from consuming by using the final frame decision algorithm for automatically adjusting the number of variable length frames transmitted by plural frame transmission sequences. CONSTITUTION: At the head of each of the plural frame transmission sequences of the final frame decision algorithm, plural frame transmission finite-state machine (TXFSM) 30 loads the maximum allowable transmission byte value from a holding register 22 to a total transmitting length counter 24, so that the maximum frame byte length transmittable to a transmitting time window is decided. Then, a frame waiting in a transmission buffer 44 is transmitted, the sum of transmitted bytes is confirmed, and as the result of transmission of the next frame waiting to be transmitted, if the sum of transmitted bytes exceeds the maximum frame byte length, the frame transmission is stopped. Thus, the consumption of ring bandwidth caused by cutting off the transmitted partial final frame is prevented.
