To provide a start lever device and method, which prevent a fraudulent act using a fraudulent device capable of recognizing a winning timing in a reel drum type game machine.

A spring 7 with a small wire diameter is mounted on a device for transmitting the input by pressing the start lever of the reel drum type game machine to an electronic circuit for winning lottery in the game machine to irregularly change timing between the pressing of a lever knob 1 and the input to the electronic circuit, i.e. timing when a detected portion 8 is moved to the outside of a start detection sensor 9, so that the device does not allow a player to know the winning timing using the fraudulent device without an additional fraudulent act-detecting device or modification of a winning lottery circuit.
