To suppress the damage of a cable by providing a connecting means enabling the relative rotation of the hose and the handle part of a vacuum cleaner in a range exceeding a specific angle.

At the vacuum cleaner, one tip of the hose 12 is connected to its inlet part with a freely attachable/detachable joint and the other tip of the hose 12 is freely rotatably connected to the handle part by a connecting device 15. The tip part of the part 14 is freely detachably fixed to the rear tip part of a pipe shaft to be connected to a suction nozzle. In addition the hose 12 receives a free cable 21 with a conductor transmitting a current from a vacuum cleaner housing to the part 14 and the conductor of the cable 21 is connected to an electric element within the part 14. The device 15 is a bolt- nut device including an outer sleeve 24 and an inner sleeve 25 and the outer sleeve 24 is fixed to a handle part 14 to permit the rotation of the part 14 in a range exceeding 360° with respect to the hose 12.
