To speed up a cooling speed with heat storage energy of a heat storage agent, shorten cooling and freezing time, and hence cool any contained article rapidly by providing a heat storage series circuit connected parallely to a cooling series circuit of a freezer and a heat storage cooling apparatus.
Upon ordinary cooling/freezing operation a refrigerant fluid produced through a condenser 2 from a compressor 1a is supplied to anevaporator 4 through a solenoid valve 6a and a pressure adjusting valve 3 to cool air in the apparatus. Upon heat storage cooling operation utilizing midnight electric power or upon cooling/freezing operation interruption the refrigerant fluid is supplied to a heat storage evaporator 14 in a heat storage tank 7 through a solenoid valve 6c and a pressure adjusting valve 6f, and is heat exchanged with a heat storage agent for cooling of the heat storage agent. Thereafter, a circulation pump 8a is properly operated to supply the cooled heat storage agent to a heat storage heat dissipator 5 which agent is then heat exchanged with air in the freezer 9 circulated with an air fan 11 to cool air in the freezer.
