Abstract:

To provide a freezing point depressant lowering the freezing point of a natural alcohol which is an alcohol composition comprising a linear alcohol as a main component.

This freezing point depressant for a linear alcohol uses a compound represented by general formula (1): R1-O-(PO)n-H, wherein R1 is a 6-22C linear alkyl group, PO represents propylene-oxy group, and n is an integer of 1-10.
