Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively utilize cold held in liquid nitrogen, in a freezing processing technique wherein liquid nitrogen is used.
CONSTITUTION: In order to freeze an object to be freezed in a processing chamber 4 using cold held in liquid nitrogen by spraying the liquid nitrogen into the precessing chamber 4, blowoff ports 9 for blowing off liquid carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide gas are formed opposite to exhaust ports 6 for exhausting vaporized nitrogen gas from within the chamber 4, respectively. Liquid carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide gas is blown off from the blowoff ports 9 to effect heat exchange between cold held in vaporized gas of the liquid nitrogen and the carbon dioxide blown off, thereby forming dry ice. The dry ice thus formed also is used to cool the object to be freezed.
