Abstract:

To provide a vehicular hinge assembly in which frictional resistance for controlling movement of a vehicle closing member is generated while reducing the number of components in the hinge assembly which supports the vehicle closing member in an open state.

A vehicular hinge assembly 10 which pivots a vehicle closing pane 12 (vehicle closing member) with respect to a vehicle body 14 comprises a first hinge member 16 which is linked to the vehicle body 14 and includes a first contact member 38, and a second hinge member 18 which is linked to the vehicle closing panel 12 and includes a second contact member 40. The first contact member 38 and the second contact member 40 have a first surface 39 and a second surface 41 which are frictionally engaged with each other. The first contact member 38 and the second contact member 40 are disposed between the first hinge member 16 and the second hinge member 18 and the vehicle closing panel 12 relatively moves between an open position and a close position, thereby generating frictional movement between the first contact member 38 and the second contact member 40. Thus, resistance controlling movement of the vehicle closing panel 12 is provided.
