Title:
FRICTION DISC FOR WET-TYPE FRICTION ENGAGING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5754745
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease the weight of a friction disc without affecting its strength by causing random entanglement of vatural pulp fibers and binding each fiber with a binder of a thermosetting synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:A main part 1 of a friction disc is formed as one body with spline engaging teeth 2 on the inner periphery, each of which is a mixture consisting of long fiber kraft pulp of a coniferous tree and screened coarse pulp as well as natural pulp obtained from waste paper, in the weight ratio 7:3. These pulp fibers are intertwined in random directions by using a paper-making method, while some diatomaceous earth as well as Cashew dust are added to fill part of the gaps among fibers, and, further, phenol resin(8% in weight) is impregnated as a binder so that the pulp fibers are bound and press-formed to the required thickness.
