Abstract:

To measure a dynamic friction coefficient due to rolling contact between a rotating body to be measured and a medium under conditions where abrasion powder and friction heat, and the variation in a friction surface are removed as much as possible.

The friction force-measuring apparatus comprises a roller block 10 for rotatably mounting a roller 11, a drive motor 12 for rotating the roller 11 that is mounted to the roller block 10, an XY table 16 for mounting a medium 17 fixedly and bringing the medium 17 into contact with the roller 11, drive motors 18 and 19 for moving the XY table 16 while the roller 11 and the medium 17 are in contact each other when rotating the roller 11, and a load cell 22 for measuring friction force being generated between the roller 11 and the medium 17 based on the rotation of the roller 11 and the XY table 16.
