Abstract:
To provide a friction material suiting an increasing energy condition of a current continuously variable torque transmission device.
The friction material is provided with a first layer of a fibrous base material 12, and a second layer 14 of friction modifying particles of at least one type in a top face of the fibrous base material 12. The second layer has an average thickness of 30-200μm and surface coverage of 80-100%, and an upper side layer has transmittance that is smaller than the first layer. By the present invention, the improved friction material having high reliability and an improved property in comparison with that of prior art can be provided.
